WhatsApp has announced long ago that they want to focus on developing its features on new devices. But, unfortunately, older phones no longer get the latest updates from WhatsApp, which can impact the security system.

In older phones, the operating system used is outdated, so WhatsApp can no longer provide support in terms of security. In addition, users with old operating systems also do not get the new features provided by WhatsApp in every update.

WhatsApp writes on its FAQ page that “WhatsApp will no longer support Android phones running OS 4.0.4 and earlier from November 1, 2021. Please switch to a supported device or save your chat history before that date.”

WhatsApp no longer supports phones running the Android operating system 4.0.3 or lower and iPhones with iOS 9 or lower.
