How to turn off Auto Update on Windows 10, it will work! – The Windows 10 operating system will automatically download and install updated applications on the computer. First of all, open the Registry Editor on the computer via the Start menu and search for the keyword ‘Regedit.’ Then, click Registry Editor. Then, in the Registry Editor, navigate the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows.

Then, click on the Windows Update folder. If it’s not there, right-click on the Windows folder, select New and click the Key option. Rename it as WindowsUpdate.

Right-click on the newly created key, select the ‘New’ submenu, then select the ‘Key’ option.

Name the newly created key ‘AU.’ Then, right-click on the AU key, select New> DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Make sure to name this new key as ‘NoAutoUpdate.’ After that, double click on the NoAutoUpdate key and change the value to ‘1’, then click the ‘OK’ button.

After making these changes, restart the computer first. After the process is complete, a notification will appear that your computer is no longer automatically installing monthly updates.

To install new updates now, you need to click on the Check Updates button in Windows Update settings, and if updates are available, you will be able to download and install them manually, one by one.
