Logitech MX Master 3 Review
MX is a series for non-gaming Logitech flagship devices, keyboards, and mice. One of them is the MX Master 3. The MX Master 3 is the successor to the MX Master 2S, also a mouse with impressive capabilities. Even so, Logitech still seems to provide some significant updates to the MX Master 3, which makes it a significant improvement over its predecessor.

At first glance, the design of the MX Master 2S and MX Master 3 looks the same. Significant and unusual indentation, unlike ordinary mice. This curve makes the two MX Master series very ergonomic in hand. There is a slight change in the placement of the horizontal scroll button and two additional buttons below it.
Compared to the MX Master 2S, the scroll button and the two buttons below feel more precisely positioned, making it easier to reach and use. But if you look closely, the MX Master 3 is much slimmer and feels lighter than its predecessor. Likewise, the shape of the left and right-click buttons changes.
The dimensions of the palm rest are also slightly larger, making it more comfortable to place your thumb, so you don’t get tired quickly. Oh yes, Logitech has finally replaced the micro USB port on the MX Master 2S with USB-C on the MX Master 3.
It may not affect performance, but it will be helpful for users who no longer have devices with a micro USB port, so there is no need to provide a special cable to charge the MX Master 3.
MX Master 3 Feature
The MX series can’t be separated from a pair of scroll wheels (vertical and horizontal) that are so innovative. The second version, MX Master 2S, brings innovation in the form of an adaptive scroll wheel that can adjust its characteristics (click-per-click or endless scrolling) to the user’s finger movements. Two years later, Logitech perfected it again through MX Master 3.
The scroll wheel on the Logitech MX Master 3 also comes with stainless steel material, making it more comfortable to use when compared to a rubber-coated scroll wheel. Other updates continued to the second scroll wheel, which is also made of stainless steel, and the back/forward button, which was moved just below the second scroll wheel to be closer to the thumb for faster access.
MX Master 3 Performance
Logitech has replaced the mechanical system that supports the scroll wheel with an electromagnetic system in this latest version. Its adaptive nature remains unchanged. However, the new system is claimed to offer an 87% higher precision rate in click-per-click mode and a 90% speed spike in non-stop scrolling mode.
The physical scroll wheel has also changed slightly now. There is no longer a layer of rubber on its stainless steel form. The horizontal scroll wheel is also wider than before, and a pair of previously behind it has now been moved below it for easier access.
The rest has not changed, ranging from a 4,000 DPI sensor that can be activated even on a glass surface, a combo of Bluetooth connectivity and a USB receiver, support for Logitech Flow technology, to a battery life of up to 70 days. The good news is that charging now no longer relies on a micro USB connection but is already USB-C.
MX Master 3 Price
The Logitech MX Master 3 retails for $100. For the keyboard (Logitech MX Keys), there is also an accessory in the form of a detachable palm rest, which can be purchased separately for $20.
Logitech has done an excellent job of creating a mouse with features that are easy to use and very useful for productivity. While not groundbreaking, it introduces many welcome improvements over the previous generation, and we can recommend the Logitech MX Master 3 for its ergonomics and versatile feature set.
The MX Master 3 has many improvements over the MX Master 2S in many ways, including the placement of the back and forward buttons, making the movement buttons a bit easier to press, and making the scroll wheel smoother.
Overall, MX Master 3 is best suited for those of you who work as editors and graphic designers, but at this price, casual users can probably find a better deal for their money.
