ASUS has just announced the presence of the ROG Phone 5, which is their latest gaming smartphone. Through this smartphone, they want to provide a gaming smartphone with the look and taste of a flagship smartphone.

ROG Phone 5 Design

The design of the ROG Phone 5 gets a pretty good upgrade when compared to the ROG Phone 3. The design is still dominated by the design of a gaming smartphone, but it looks more elegant. The triple rear camera housing design on the ROG Phone 5 is quite different from its predecessor.

However, in terms of dimensions, this smartphone is still the same, likewise with the placement of I/O ports. But because the camera housing is different. What is very interesting about this gaming smartphone is the change in the LED design on the back. They use the ROG logo with a Dot Matrix accent, not flat like on the ROG Phone 3.

Next SIM Tray. It is a striking red color and is very eye-catching. These changes are what make the ROG Phone 5 different from the rest. As for I/O, at the bottom, there is a 3.5mm combo audio jack and USB Type-C. A SIM tray slot, a proprietary USB Type-C slot, and a port for connecting additional peripherals on the left. Due to smartphone gaming, there are several excellent gaming features embedded by ASUS. The presence of a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz with a touch latency of 24.3 ms is the lowest so far.

The refresh rate offered is already 144Hz, although only a few mobile games already support the high refresh rate feature. In addition, there is also a screen response time feature of only 1ms. And because it supports HDR10+, you will be very comfortable when watching movies on streaming applications. On the audio side, the ROG Phone 5 has two speakers that face the user directly.

The listening experience is also outstanding, does not cause distortion when forced to output 100% sound. The bass is quite pronounced, and the sound spacing is quite good. This speaker is also quite good at simulating where the sound source is from a game or movie.

For audio features, ROG Phone 5 supports Hi-Res Audio and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive. There is also a DAC feature that will boost listening quality when using the 3.5mm audio jack.
